About Me

Thokozani (he/him) is a nosey researcher by day and an Ancestor-summoning poet by night. His work explores existing and becoming and the murky confusion that lies between. As a rule, Thokozani chooses to navigate his work and community spaces from a place of healing- where poetry has become a tool of resistance and recovery in the service he provide to others; such as his Healing Knowledge virtual space that centres the voices of trans and/ nonbinary folks in storytelling. He is the author of The Sunflower Faces East At Dawn (2022) Agender Daydreams (2022), A Modest Mahogany Table (2024) and behind god’s eyes (2024). When not writing, thinking of writing or dreaming of writing, Thokozani can be found frolicking in sunflower fields, hula-hooping, or eating copious amounts of pizza.
