The story of Jezebel: on the revolutionary act of black women's sexual liberation

This article was published in 2019 for Shades of Noir.

Author's note: At the time, whilst grappling with language and (un)gender interrogation, I fell victim to the use of the word "womxn". At the time, I believed it to be an inclusive term for who I felt I was in that moment. I do not hold that belief any longer and understand the exclusionary and TERF-y nature of the use of "womxn" in current times. I have chosen to include this work in my portfolio as I do believe the message within it is still relevant. However, I do want to acknowledge that the use of the word was misinformed nonetheless.
